Taking the course of veterinary internal medicine in Xichang University as an example， based on the teaching objectives of veterinary internal medicine， this paper discusses the implementation of the course of veterinary internal medicine in Xichang University in detail from the aspects of the exploration of ideological and political elements in the course of veterinary internal medicine， the improvement of teachers'' ideological and political education awareness， the optimization of teaching organization and teaching methods， and the reform of teaching evaluation system. The results of education are analyzed， and the relevant research can provide reference for the ideological and political education construction of professional courses of animal medicine . It will help cultivate high-quality and application-oriented veterinary talents with both virtue and expertise for Liangshan area in Sichuan.
