Book design is an important professional course for Art Design majors，and it in the whole design system is an indispensable role. Now in the teaching of book design, most of the attentions paid to the book covers and the design of the plate，ignoring the books form design. This paper, from the characteristic of the book design，discussed that the form design should not only to reflect the unique cover design, but also to achieve a novel shape, with materials of alternative to make the form of books according with people's reading psychology.
