This paper introduces the analysis methods of using photo-electric direct reading spectrometry instrument in the produce of SPA-H steel (weathering steel) by technical test center of Sichuan Pangnag group Xingangye limited company. Calibration to the photo-electric direct reading spectrometry instrument can make sure the balance of chemical components in steel liquid. More attention to the control of important procedures as sampling, sample preparation, analysis and so on can help to meet the production need of SPA-H steel.
