Through documentary research, word frequency analysis, co-word analysis and statistical method, the thesis analyzes the papers on basketball in the twelve core Chinese sports journals. The results are as follows: the number of the researches on basketball has been decreasing; there are more dissertations on basketball in Journal of Beijing Sport University and Sports Cultural Guide Magazine, etc; there are leading writers in basketball research. And from the statistics, there are five hot issues in basketball research: the economic and cultural study on the tactics in male and female games; competitive basketball; CUBA; the athletics and the judges; the reserved talents. The thesis purports to point out the hot issues in basketball research in recent years, which can hopefully be valuable to the relative studies
