The content of safflor yellow A of 48 species of safflower coming from all over the world were determined by the HPLC method. There were significant differences in the content of safflor yellow A of different varieties. The content of safflor yellow A from European materials was the highest, followed by materials from Asia. The content of safflor yellow A from American materials was the lowest.
