Through questionnaires, factor analysis, multiple linear regression analysis etc., factors affecting the teaching quality of Introduction to Project Supervision Engineering course in Xichang University were investigated and analyzed. The results showed that classroom teaching, learning resources, atmosphere creation, and quality of teachers were major factors affecting the teaching quality of this course; the teaching quality of this course was not significantly correlated with demographic variables such as gender, ethnicity, students'' choices of art or science subjects in middle school education, being only child or not in family, and students'' places of school education. Relying on the talent education strategy of “undergraduate degrees plus career skills”, and drawing on our experiences from teaching this course, we proposed strategies for improvement of the teaching quality from the four aspects: to improve the quality of application-oriented teachers, to add to classroom teaching materials, to enrich professional learning resources, to create a professional learning atmosphere, and to foster the development of ideological and political education in all courses.
