Abstract:The education development level in the ethnic minority areas of southwestern Sichuan is relatively backward, and their educational background has a certain ethnic regionality, therefore, the background of ideological and political teaching in physics courses is quite different from that in other regions. By adopting a case study approach, this paper interviews teachers and students at Xichang University in Liangshan Prefecture. Students from various science and engineering schools are asked to take pre-semester exams and questionnaire surveys for the study of the current situation as well as its causes of ideological and political education in physics courses in the ethnic minority areas of southwestern Sichuan. A questionnaire based on the "Goodman Scale" design principle is designed, and scalable data is input and analyzed to obtain consistent data which indicate that the integration of ideological and political teaching into college physics courses in ethnic minority areas of southwestern Sichuan should be student-centered and fact-based to construct an optimized efficient teaching mechanism from improved overall quality of the faculty, strengthened teacher-student interaction, and a more effective teaching platform provided by the university.
