In order to To discuss the Java programming course teaching to develop students' abilities against the background of new engineering education. To analyze the characteristics of Java programming course and the problems in the course teaching process in our university, then to introduce OBE education ideas against the background of new engineering education to reform the teaching materials, teaching methods, experimental items and the assessment forms for this course. Students' performance and satisfaction indexes in this new education mode are better than those in traditional education mode.
