Aiming at the cultivation of innovative and practical abilitiesfor computer majors in application-oriented universities, this paper puts forward a training system to cultivate students' innovative ability in four stages based on the national "NXP" smart car competition. After more than nine years of efforts, a sound training process has been formed. Students have achieved excellent competition results and their corresponding employment rate has been raised.
