Higher vocational college students majoring in engineering master some basic skills through practice to produce positive role in their professional learning and employment. In the new period，however，the teaching effect is not as good because of such problems as the large amount of students，the shortage of equipment，the incompleteness of work types，and the teaching mode of special weeks for metalworking practice. So，in this paper， how to greatly improve teaching effect through the reform of teaching mode of metalworking practice will be discussed.
