Selection problems of transmission line touch upon many aspects，of which basis stability of the pole tower is an important factor that influences the transmission line plans. This paper mainly discusses preliminary analysis on geotechnical engineering problems of transmission line plans for Chayuanhe Hydropower Station，which draws a conclusion that west scheme is better than the east project by comparison of two plans in geotechnical engineering conditions.
