The building of Socialist new rural areas can not go without the healthy development of the livestock husbandry and strengthening the animal epidemic prevention is the important guarantee to develop healthy livestock husbandry. There are some problems in the animal epidemic prevention work in Building New Rural Areas of West China, including those problems in the epidemic prevention troops, the epidemic prevention means and the supervision means. Correspondingly, some measures such as increasing the budget devotion, strengthening the animal epidemic prevention system and troops construction, enlarging the publicity of importance of the animal epidemic prevention should be adopted.
