This paper gives a general review of the introduction, selection and popularization of rice varieties in the past ten years in Mianning County. Based on the analysis of their characteristics and poputarization, the paper suggeits that in future work, stress should be put on adjusting objectives of variety introduction, improving objectives of variety introduction, improving variety introduction plan, converting people's viewpoints and bettering related services.
